Riddims Tropicale #27
After sticking to head-nodding and booting-shaking 108bpm-ish music the last shows I decided to have something nice and easy for the November lime, perfect to have a drink to and groove along with your girl (or man).
So.. what to come up with this month? Haven’t really covered Soca from the Summer Carnivals yet and new tunes for next Carnival are flying in just so. Although the last days I have been in a strong Semba mood. To avoid this tough decision between the Caribbean and the Angolan music I leave it up to you: “Soca VS Semba” – you decide!
The first hour is dedicated to Groovy Soca, some superbrandnew (like the Paradise Riddim, Project 5 Riddim or D’Gaping Riddim), some from the summer carnivals in Barbados and Antigua (represented by Onyans controversal ‘Kick een she backdoor’).
Rei Helder is taking over with ‘Ela já quero’, introducing the Semba part of the show. My favorite artists from Angola are featured the second hour of Riddims Tropicale: Puto Português, Aleluia, Puto Prata, Eli Constantino, Yuri Da Cunha and more.
